UCR.gov login: carriers don't have one
There is no carrier login on UCR.gov — no username, no password, no account to create. You start a registration by typing your USDOT number into the box on the UCR.gov home page, ticking that you agree to the Terms of Use, clearing a reCAPTCHA and pressing Submit. The portal then shows the name and address from your FMCSA record and asks you to re-enter your USDOT to confirm it's you. This page is EasyUCR, a private company. We are not UCR.gov, and you never need to give us — or anyone — a login to register.
How you actually get into UCR.gov
Go to www.ucr.gov. In the middle of the page is a box labelled "Enter USDOT to begin". Type your USDOT number, tick the box saying you agree to the UCR Online Privacy Notice and Website Terms of Use, complete the reCAPTCHA, and press Submit. The next screen — "Is this you?" — shows the legal name and address on your FMCSA record and asks you to type your USDOT once more. Confirm it and you're on your registration-history dashboard, where each year has its own row and a REGISTER NOW button. That's the whole way in. Nothing about it involves a password.
Then what is the "Admin" link in the menu?
The UCR.gov menu has an Admin entry alongside Enforcement, Permitting and the UCR-1 and UCR-2 forms. It is for program and state staff, not for motor carriers, brokers or freight forwarders registering their own company. If you're a carrier and you've ended up on a username-and-password screen, you've gone the wrong way — go back to the home page and use the USDOT box.
Why people search for a login — and the scam that relies on it
Most online accounts have a login, so it's natural to expect one, and if you registered last year you may half-remember signing in somewhere. That expectation is exactly what misleading UCR mailers exploit: a letter or email says your registration is due and points you to a site that looks official and asks you to "log in" or hand over details. UCR.gov doesn't work that way. No legitimate service needs a UCR.gov login from you, because one doesn't exist. EasyUCR never asks for it either — our guide works alongside you while you use UCR.gov yourself, in your own browser tab.
Read this before you register for 2027
UCR.gov currently shows a notice that FMCSA has suspended the required biennial MCS-150 updates, and that the UCR Plan is asking every carrier to declare all the commercial motor vehicles it operates in interstate commerce at the time of UCR registration. In practice that means the vehicle screen is where you need to be careful: the count you declare sets your fee bracket, and the number on an old MCS-150 may not match your fleet today. EasyUCR's free check reads your public FMCSA record and shows you which bracket that record puts you in, so you know what to expect before you reach that screen.
Frequently asked questions
What is my UCR.gov username and password?+
You don't have one. UCR.gov doesn't use carrier accounts — you begin each registration by entering your USDOT number on the home page and confirming your company on the "Is this you?" screen.
I forgot my UCR.gov password. How do I reset it?+
There's nothing to reset. Go to www.ucr.gov, enter your USDOT number in the "Enter USDOT to begin" box, accept the terms, complete the reCAPTCHA and press Submit.
Is EasyUCR the same as UCR.gov?+
No. EasyUCR is a private company and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Unified Carrier Registration Plan, the FMCSA or any state. You can register directly on UCR.gov without us. We offer optional AI-guided help while you register yourself; the government fee is paid by you, on UCR.gov.
Should I give anyone my UCR.gov login?+
There isn't one to give. Treat any site, letter or caller asking you to "log in to UCR" through them, or asking for passwords, with suspicion — register on www.ucr.gov yourself.
